Whats on!
In Episode #5 we are delighted to introduce 2 new speakers. André Declerck is a Clinical Psychologist who will present on the impact of trauma in children and adolescents. How trauma affects the developing brain and how best to work with children who have experienced trauma. Minky van der Walt is a Registered Music Therapist. Minky will answer the questions, 'What is Music Therapy and how can it be utilised in schools?' She will talk about music and the impact on neural processes. Also, how music and music therapy can foster wellbeing, connectedness and positive learning environments. We welcome back Sheree Martin from the Little Red Art Shed. Sheree will present 5 activities that promote creativity in the classroom and discuss process art-based acivities that can be linked to the achievement or reinforcement of curriculum based outcomes. Sheree will also facilitate an amazing photo booth during the eats break (it's bolded because we know you love our food!) ... photos will be emailed to you! And finally Catherine will present on Understanding Social Cognition. Processing and applying social information is the intriguing world of social cognition. It’s a place in our interactions where success is golden and non-mastery is day after day, friend after friend failure. Many parents educators and therapists have been trying to effect a change for their students with these difficulties, but even grasping the starting concepts can be difficult.
